Editing my revision that I had written earlier this week to be more fair. What happened is this: MMS closed two floors and moved a lot of us into other units on different floors. Basically, I did not get the memo. This is on me. So I was not thrilled about it. The new unit I have is not as nice as the other so that did not help, and since a lot of us were moved we are more crowded. The aisles are more narrow too which is an issue if you need to fully open the door of your unit. Other than that, it’s really not terrible, I just was happier before. So basically my complaint is that they did not call, though they did indeed email me. Because it would have been easier for me to move my own stuff instead of emptying the unit completely and putting it all back in so I knew what was what. (I literally photograph my storage and what I put in it and where each time I go there so I can find things easily. I recommend doing this because additionally it helps if you switch units). This did not make me happy. However, I really must emphasize this- the staff are wonderful. MMS hires lovely people. Every person I spoke to was patient with me even though I was not so happy about the situation and basically a complainer. They were helpful, they offered information and alternative solutions. I chose to stay in the new unit because that’s what’s easiest for me and the differences that bothered me at first are not horrible. I’m kind of over it. Just please pay attention to your emails closely. I was aware my rate would increase, so when I got the emails about my autopay ending, that is what I tended to so I did not miss a payment. But there can be others, you may have to switch units. And they do this for you- they move you if you do not answer but they are careful. (One small thing I can’t find but I’m sure it’s in there somewhere). My stuff was packed respectfully- don’t worry about how it is handled. But if you want to do it yourself you must watch your email. It’s most likely in the contract so just look out for this. I guess it’s kind of an emotional thing to have this happen unexpectedly, but it’s fine now. Storage is not exactly an extension of your apartment, it’s not your home. You do not have the same rights. But I guess I adopted it as just something that makes my life so much more livable. It still is. I just need to pay attention to email better. I hope they don’t close this facility. Closing two floors is not a good sign. … Winter is coming. You know what that means. We will want to be home and cozy and enjoying the privacy of our abodes away from the maddening holiday crowds. Home for me is a tiny one room studio apartment. While I am grateful for that roof over my head, it gets a little cramped and that gives me anxiety. Manhattan Mini Storage can save your sanity. Well, it can help. It really is a good buy for the price, especially if leveling up your living space is not an option. I like the space I got, I even put magnetic rechargeable lights in it. It’s perfect for things I don’t need to live with 24/7 but still want or need to hold on to. There is parking in front, hand trucks on the first floor and other amenities I have yet to take advantage of. This location is right near the Intrepid and Circle Line and the M42 bus. You can go for a nice walk on the Greenway before you return to your declutterred apartment. Before you do so, thank the wonderful staff at Manhattan Mini Storage for keeping that place spotless and in order. The staff are always helpful, informative and friendly.

I went to the store at 645 W 44th Street today and Sileeta was amazing! She helped me to my new unit and helped me résolve many issues. She was professional, understanding and so grateful. Helpful staff and reasonable pricing. Could be somewhat difficult to find parking during busier hours. They only have a handful of trolleys which is pretty shortsighted given 2-3 people can use them up.

10+ years receiving the best service for a Model UN production in Times Square using 2 units at the conveniently located W 44 St facility.
