Gotham Mini Storage at 501 10th Ave is closing

Due to an unexpected lease non-renewal, Gotham Mini Storage will be closing its doors. But they’ve worked closely with Manhattan Mini Storage and Secure Self Storage to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Billing Transition to Manhattan Mini Storage

You will owe rent to Gotham Mini Storage through your move-out date.

If you relocate to Manhattan Mini Storage, your current month’s payment - or any remaining balance - will transfer to your new account at Manhattan Mini Storage.

If you are enrolled in auto-pay, your final balance will be processed through Gotham Mini Storage, and then auto-pay will be turned off after your move. You’ll receive instructions for setting up auto-pay at Manhattan Mini Storage once your move is complete.

You will only pay one rent bill during your move month, and that payment will go to Gotham Mini Storage. Your next rent bill will be to Manhattan Mini Storage. Your first rent payment at Manhattan Mini Storage will be due on the 1st day of the month following your move.

  • For example, if you move in July, pay your July rent to Gotham Mini Storage. Your account balance will carry over, and your next rent payment (for August) will be due to Manhattan Mini Storage on August 1st.

  • If you move in August, pay your August rent to Gotham Mini Storage. Your next payment (for September) will be due to Manhattan Mini Storage on September 1st.

If you are not enrolled in auto-pay, continue making one-time payments to Gotham Mini Storage through your move date.

If you selected Secure Self Storage – Queens, call the hotline at (877) 763-0085 for billing information.

How the Move Will Work

  • Hassle-Free for You: Once you select your new location and sign your lease, Gotham Mini Storage will take care of everything else. They’ll handle the entire process for you and send a confirmation email once your items have arrived at the new facility.

  • Fully Covered Move: All moving costs are 100% covered when you relocate to one of the four designated facilities using the assigned movers. Please note that moves with outside or third-party movers are not eligible for reimbursement.

  • Moving Appointments: You must let Gotham Mini Storage know your preferred facility by July 15, 2025. If they don’t hear from you by then, they will relocate your unit to an available facility from the options listed above. All moves will be finalized by Aug 15, 2025.

  • Lock Replacement: Before your move, Gotham Mini Storage will remove and discard your existing lock and install a temporary one. Once your belongings are moved, your chosen facility will replace it with a brand-new lock. You can pick up the keys to your new lock during office hours at the front office when you visit your unit for the first time. If you would like to remove and keep your lock, please arrange a time with Gotham store staff to replace your lock.

Additional Benefits & Support

  • Same Rates: Your current rental rate will remain unchanged. If you choose to move to Secure Self Storage in Queens, you will receive two months of rent for free.

  • On-Site Assistance: Representatives from Gotham Mini Storage, Secure Self Storage, and Manhattan Mini Storage will be available at the 501 10th Ave store during office hours to answer your questions.

  • Dedicated Hotline: A dedicated phone line is active so you can speak with a team member regarding any questions or to schedule your move time: (877) 763-0085

  • To complete your move, you must call this hotline number or visit the Gotham Mini Storage office. You will receive a new rental agreement and consent form giving permission for your stored property to be moved when you call the hotline. We may call, text or e-mail you as well if we do not hear back from you.
