All Part of the MTA's Music Under New York Program
It's not every person street musician and subway performer who can play in the New York City Subway system. There are actually auditions held by the MTA every May for the next years New York City Attractions. The auditions alone become a NYC event with over 700 groups and individuals competing for the coveted Music Under New York approval. Only about 10 groups per year are chosen.
All of NY can agree; it's a good thing that Colin Huggins, the Crazy Piano Guy and his side kicking, tap dancing friends were among the chosen.
