Free Storage Taxi
What is the Storage Taxi?
The Storage Taxi is an oversized minivan with no seats in the back. If you're an existing Manhattan Mini Storage guest, you can use the Storage Taxi to get a free ride for you and your belongings to or from your storage space. You can use it as much as you need to, and it's FREE! (Sounds too good to be true, we know.)
You can also use the Storage Taxi for your initial move-in, but only if your items will fit in the van in a single trip.
How do I book it?
To book the Storage Taxi, call us at
(800) S-T-O-R-A-G-E (786-7243)
and select menu option 3.
Trips on the Storage Taxi are booked on a first come, first serve basis, and the service is (quite understandably) insanely popular with our guests. Though we operate a fleet of 4 vehicles, we frequently fill up, so you should call a few days in advance to book your trip - and even more than that for high-demand periods such as weekends or at the end of the month.
How does it work?
Storage Taxi pickups are scheduled in two-hour windows. For example, if you book a 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. pickup window, the driver could arrive at the pickup location as early as 9 a.m. or as late as 11 a.m. We operate the Storage Taxi from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m., 7 days a week.
The simple steps of a Storage Taxi trip are:
- • You will receive an automated call as soon as the driver is on his way to you.
- • This is your cue to bring your items to the curb. (With the Storage Taxi, we provide the van and driver, but you provide the
labor - making it different from a full-service move.)
- • Once the driver arrives, you'll have no more than 10 minutes to load up your stuff, so you should be ready and waiting!
- • After you've loaded your items, you and your items will be driven to your destination. Easy as that!
Keep in mind that the Storage Taxi provides a one-way trip, not a round-trip. For example, if you need to bring more items into storage, you would book the storage taxi to help you get the stuff there; getting home, though, you'd have to rely on the subway, a cab, your bicycle, or your own two legs to carry you.
